The Department of Commerce started its journey at the initial stage of Rampurhat College in 1963. Honours course was introduced in 1975. The department of Commerce has a long tradition of harbouring good teachers and a good number of students. The department is run on the basis of an up to date syllabus affiliated to The University of Burdwan. The students of the department take the initiative to publish a wall magazine in the name of " Money and Business". They also maintain a green corner which is very well nurtured with great care and enthusiasm.
